Living Sustainability – Responsibility with Vision

At Tante Anna, sustainability is not a trend but a lived conviction. From the very beginning – in the planning and design of our retreats – the careful use of resources has been at the heart of our philosophy, and we continue to build on this every day.

Through continuous energy monitoring, regular consumption analyses, and the ongoing development of our processes, we strive to further improve the balance between economic, ecological, and social responsibility.

. Energy & Mobility

  • Heat & Power: For hot water and heating we use geothermal energy – a heat pump with a ground collector ensures efficient energy generation. Our electricity comes from our own photovoltaic system, which produces more energy each year than we consume.
  • E-Mobility: Six parking spaces are equipped with charging stations for electric cars, and e-bikes can be charged in the bicycle garage.
  • Eco-Friendly Travel: Guests arriving by train and bus can reach us easily via Schruns and bus line 650. We’ll gladly pick you up at the “St. Gallenkirch Zentrum” stop. For skiers, dedicated ski depots are available at the Valisera cable car valley station.

. Water & Resource Conservation

  • Water Conservation: Toilets, showers, and taps are fitted with modern water-saving technology. We encourage our guests to use water consciously.
  • Waste Reduction: Compostable coffee capsules, drinks exclusively in glass bottles – many of them organic and locally sourced. Soft drinks and beer come in reusable bottles from Vorarlberg. Hand soap and shampoo are provided in refillable glass dispensers and produced as natural products in the Bregenzerwald.

. Cleaning & Recycling

  • Sustainable Products: Cleaning agents, dishwasher tablets, and toilet paper are sustainably produced and certified with the Austrian Ecolabel.
  • Waste Separation: All retreats are equipped with bins for organic waste, residual waste, and recyclables. In the waste room next to the bicycle garage you will find labelled containers for separate disposal.

. Accessibility

  • Our apartments Freiraum and Ausklang are both step-free and easily accessible. At Ausklang, the parking space is located right outside the door for your convenience. The Montafoner Haus can be reached via three steps, with all bedrooms situated on the upper floor.

    All showers are walk-in for easy access; however, please note that the bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible due to limited turning space.
